IN-PERSON AUDITION
Please arrive at least 45-60 mins before the start of the audition to check in and
pay your fee in cash.
Auditions are workshop style, meaning that you will be taught a combination then asked to perform it in a smaller group. You do not need to prepare anything in advance.
Please wear form-fitting dance-wear such as a leotard, bodysuit, or dance shorts. For footwear, bare feet is ideal. A foot thong is also acceptable. Hair should be pulled off the face, tied back, plait, or in a low bun.
The Acro Championships are held at the same time as Show. Dance so dancers may choose to audition for both as rehearsal and team travel will be held together.
CASTING CATEGORIES
Formation Children (9-12yrs)
Formation Junior (13-16 yrs)
Formation Adult (17 & over)
*All dancers will be a part of Formation which is a large group (8-24 dancers). Dancers also have the opportunity to dance all together in the Production
From the chosen Formation dancers, we *may choose dancers for
- Small group. We may only choose dancers for 1-3 small groups per age
- Duo. We will only choose for 1-4 duos per age division
- Solo. We will only choose for 1-5 solo positions per age division
Please contact us immediately if you were awarded a Golden Ticket and are interested in the 2025 team
RESULTS
Results may be available up to 7 days after the first audition, however, the Acro faculty may choose to defer ALL RESULTS until AFTER THE SCOND (MARCH) audition.
We will notify EVERYONE whether they made the team or not by the registered email on file. Some dancers may be asked to come for a second look.

In-person auditions are always preferred and chosen first as the choreographer would like to see you work in person and doing their choreography*video audition for pre -approved only - we will not take any video auditions at this time until after all in-person auditions have concluded

- send video or video link. All formats accepted. Video of a recent competition routine or film something with your phone. Show us what you can do! Great footwork is important but so is stage presence.
- send a headshot - it can just be a pic on your phone or any pic you have that shows at least from head to waist. It doesn't have to be a dance pic. This is a reference pic.

For Solo/Duos only
JUNIOR 1 is 13-14
JUNOR 2 is 15-16
SOLOS are separated by Male/Female
CHOREO AND REHEARSAL DATES
ALL INFORMATION WILL BE POSTED ON YOUR TEAM MEMBER PAGE and/or TEAM SNAP.
DANCERS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL REHEARSAL DATES. SOME DATES MAY NOT APPLY. THE TENTATIVE DATES ARE FOR ALL ONTARIO TEAMS :
- APRIL 18-21 *not everyone starts
- MAY 17-19 *not everyone starts
- JULY 13-19 *everyone starts
- AUG 4-10
- AUG 20-24
- SEPTEMBER 14, 21, 28
- OCTOBER 13th - ONTARIO SHOWCASE @ Living Arts Centre
The official rehearsal schedule will be sent out AFTER the results and once the TEAM IS ESTABLISHED. We need to form the team before making the schedule. All rehearsals will be in the Greater Toronto area.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
*Please note that the organizers will be holding concurrent World Championships at this location in SHOW DANCE, and ACRO - as well as the PERFORMING ARTS IMPROVISATION Championship. It will be an exciting week with A LOT happening!!
WE COMPETE IN ROUNDS AT THE IDO WORLD DANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS.
The tentative schedule plan for at least 3 round per age (quarter, half, and final).
The goal I to make it to the FINAL round!
