2024 TAP CHOREO TEAM

INCLUDES:

• 7-nights hotel (includes breakfast)

• Choreographer/coach travel 

WHAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Flights - Team Canada will not be booking flights for the teams this year. We can assist if needed.
• Choreography - This fee goes to the choreographers and rehearsal coaches must be paid in cash during choreography week.  
• Extra Groups - If you are selected for a small group, there is another choreography charge determined by the choreographer and must be paid in cash during the first 'extra group' rehearsal
• Solo/Duo/Trio - if you are selected for  these, extra choreography may apply if the routine is new or needs revamping 
• All routines are subject to additional costume charges which will be through the choreographer 
• Travel, health, and cancellation insurance.  
• Any local travel for rehearsals and Canadian airport, etc.  Dancers may be able to 'bunk' with a local dancer on the team if they need lodging.
• Meals and leisure in Prague (except breakfast), but there will be at least one mixer included
• Any additional (optional) Teamwear that is available from our webstore

WHAT IT DOES NOT INCLUDE:

• Travel, health, and cancellation insurance.  Most credit cards and many employers have better insurance than we can provide.  If you need suggestions, we can let you know what we use personally when we travel.
• Any local travel expenses related to rehearsals and getting to the Canadian airport, etc.  The dancers may be able to 'bunk' with a local dancer to save on lodging during rehearsal weekends if they want.  If you are local and want to host a friend from the team, let us know and we can set it up, or you can volunteer to the family directly or on TeamSnap.
• Meals and leisure in Prague (except breakfast)  is not included outside what is provided by the competition.  
• Additional Teamwear that is available from the webstore

2024 IDO WORLD TAP CHAMPIONSHIP

October 23-27, 2024

Prague, Czechia

MANDATORY ARRIVAL DATE: 

Please be sure that you depart by October 20th (so you will arrive by October 21st). 

OPTIONAL DEPARTURE DATE: 

You will check out of the hotel on Monday, October 28th and we will have a shuttle to the Prague airport.  As mentioned, your return date is optional.

TENTATIVE SHOWCASE

We are planning a Dress Rehearsal/Showcase for Saturday October 19, 2024

This year, we are asking families to purchase their own airline tickets.  In the last couple of years we have found that airlines aren’t interested in booking groups anymore and are making it more difficult.

Families will be able to take advantage of seat sales, use their points, and use third-party sites like Expedia to get a better deal for their families.

ADVANTAGES

Group tickets cost more than if you purchased your own online.  We often pay even more as we wait for everyone's travel info.  You can take advantage of seat sales and third-party sites for the best deals.  You can use your credit card which may include insurance and points.  You can decide the duration of your trip.  Sponsors may donate points towards your flights.  You can upgrade to whatever level you wish - you won't be limited for seat choices as we are in groups.

DISADVANTAGESS

If your flight is delayed/cancelled, any additional expenses are up to you.  If something happens and you don't make it to the competition in time, you cannot compete in the next round as only dancers who qualified for the next round can compete. IDO has make exceptions for entire teams who missed a round due to travel.  It's always exciting to travel with a group but the reality in the last few years is that we cannot get everyone on the same flight anymore.  You may not be comfortable making your own arrangements - but we can help!  

TEAM DEPOSIT

Once accepted to the team, we require a $200 deposit to secure your position.  You may e-transfer your deposit when you register.  We are not using Amilia this year.

WAYS TO PAY

• E-TRANSFER  to idocanadatap@gmail.com, No fees for this unless your bank charges you one.  The password was sent in your registration email.  Contact us if you do not know the passworld to send with your etransfer.  Your account will be updated after payment taken
• CHEQUE: post-dated cheques made out to TEAM CANADA DANCE and sent by registered mail/courier
• PAY PAL: a 3% service charge that you will need to add to the amount per transaction.  The benefit to this is that you may mix payment methods and pay when you can.

We prefer sponsors to pay the dancer directly as the money isn't going to Team Canada Dance.  If they would rather pay directly, have them contact us and we can make arrangements.  There is also an option for them to make a sponsor payment on Amilia or through our PayPal with the dancers name/team/province in the comment section.

 A great way to offset some of the travel cost is to form a fundraising committee within the team.  This not only helps those families in need but also promotes team bonding.

Individual dancers may seek sponsorships from local businesses to help as well.  In the past, we have had several dancers pay for their entire family this way!  

Finally, get yourself in the news!  But before you do, check with us to see if other dancers in your area  are on this team or one of the other ones so you all get some exposure!
