IN-PERSON AUDITION
Please arrive at least 45-60 mins before the start of the audition to check in and
pay your fee in cash.
Auditions are workshop style, meaning that you will be taught a combination then asked to perform it in a smaller group. You do not need to prepare anything in advance.
BALLET: Please wear a black body suit and ballet tights. Males are to wear form-fitting black pants and tight sleeveless or short sleeved white or black shirt. Hair should be pulled off the face, tied back, tucked plaited, or in a bun. Ballet shoes are expected for all dancers - Female dancers 13 & over are to bring their pointe shoes as well if they are trained on pointe
JAZZ: Please wear form-fitting dance-wear such as a leotard, bodysuit, or dance shorts. For footwear, proper jazz shoes are expected. A foot thong is also acceptable. No bare feet or socks as footwear. Hair should be pulled off the face, tied back, plait, or in a low bun.

The Ballet and Jazz Championships are held at the same time as so dancers may choose to audition for both as rehearsal and team travel will be held together. This is followed by the Modern/Contemporary Championships. Dancers may participate in 1, 2, or all 3 genres

*All dancers will be a part of Formation which is a large group (8-24 dancers).
From the chosen Formation dancers, we *may choose dancers for
- Small group. We may only choose dancers for 1-2 small groups per age
- Duo. We will only choose for 1-2 duos per age division
- Solo. We will only choose for 1-2 solos positions per age division
Please contact us immediately if you were awarded a Golden Ticket and are interested in the 2025 team
RESULTS
Results may be available up to 7 days after the first audition, however, the faculty may choose to defer ALL RESULTS until AFTER THE SECOND audition.
We will notify EVERYONE whether they made the team or not by the registered email on file. Some dancers may be asked to come for a second look.

BALLET SKILLS REQUIRED TO DEMONSTRATE
Please include in your video the following skills to the best of your ability
- Tendus (to show use of feet)
- Adagio movements (developées, arabasques)
- Petite allegro (sautées, echapées)
- Pirouettes any combinations
- Grand Jetés en tournent
- Diagonal tours (tours piques, toured soutenus)
*if you have a variation, you may submit that video as well in addition to a solo that you are currently competing with or performing.
BALLET POINTE WORK
If you are 13 & over, please include a pointe work submission as well. Juniors (13-16) is optional, however, if you do pointe, please include for assessment. If you are 17 & over, you must submit a pointe work submission.
JAZZ DANCE
Jazz Dance is also taking place at the same time/venue as the ballet championships, you may be a part of both teams if accepted, or only one. Video auditions for jazz should include a dance routine - we want to see performance ability as well as dance caliber.
TECHNIQUE REQUIREMENTS FOR DANCE
We would like to see these qualities in your dance performance or a separate video showing certain techniques

- kicks
- holds
- pirouettes
MODERN/CONTEMPORARY (m/c) DANCE
Modern/Contemporary is also taking place at the same time/venue as the ballet/jazz championships, after that event concludes. You may be a part of one, two, or all three genrs if accepted. Video auditions for m/c should include a dance routine - we want to see performance ability as well as dance caliber.

- Flights - Team Canada will offer both 'team' and individual flights
- Choreography/Coaching - This fee goes to the choreographers and rehearsal coaches must be paid in cash during choreography week.
- Extra Groups/Solo/Duo - If you are selected for a small group, there is another choreography charge determined by the choreographer and must be paid in cash during the first 'extra group' rehearsal.
- All routines are subject to additional costume charges which will be through the choreographer
- Travel, health, and cancellation insurance.
- Any local travel for rehearsals and Canadian airport, etc. Dancers may be able to 'bunk' with a local dancer on the team if they need lodging.
- Meals and leisure in Poland (except breakfast), but there will be at least one mixer included
